A Kani shawl is a type of Kashmir shawl origin A Kani shawl is a type of Kashmir shawl originating from the Kanihama area of the Kashmir valley. It is one of the oldest handicraft of Kashmir. This craft has been a part of the valley since the time of Mughals. It has received the Geographical Indication Tag in November 2008.

The shawls are woven from pashmina yarn on a handloom. But instead of a shuttle used in regular pashmina shawls, Kani shawls use needles made from cane or wood. The distinguishable, Mughal patterns, usually of flowers and leaves, are woven into the fabric like a carpet, thread by thread, based on the coded pattern called 'Talim'. 

Kani shawls are preserved and displayed in museums like “Victoria and Albert Museum in London”.

The Eathamozhi Tall Coconut is a rare type of tall The Eathamozhi Tall Coconut is a rare type of tall coconut variety  with immense historical, religious and commercial importance thrives in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu. It has received the Geographical Indication in July 2008.

Eathamozhy tall coconut is known for its strong hardy stem, large crown with 30 – 36 leaves, good size fruits with generous amount of fibre in the thick shell, kernel and high percentage of copra and oil. The tree can reach a height of about 30 metres and can live for about 80 – 100 years. 

The nuts of this variety are supplied to desiccated coconut manufacturers, copra makers and industrial product manufacturers across Tamil Nadu.

The Monsooned Malabar Arabica and Robusta Coffee, The Monsooned Malabar Arabica and Robusta Coffee, which is unique to Malabar coast of Kerala, Karnataka and the Nilgiri mountains of Tamilnadu. Both varieties has received GI Tag individually in 2008.

Monsoon Malabar, is a process applied to coffee beans. The harvested coffee seeds are exposed to the monsoon rain and winds for a period of about three to four months, causing the beans to swell and lose the original acidity, resulting in a flavor profile with a practically neutral pH balance.

Two variants of the culture are available, respectfully identified as Monsoon Malabar Arabica and Monsoon Malabar Robusta.Arabica tends to have a smoother, sweeter taste, with flavour notes of chocolate and sugar. They often also have hints of fruits or berries. Robusta, on the other hand, has a stronger, harsher and more bitter taste, with grainy or rubbery overtones. 
It can be drunk on its own (black) or used as a base with other coffee blends.

Phulkari refers to the folk embroidery of the Pun Phulkari refers to the folk embroidery of the Punjab. The phulkari is threadwork that uses linear stitches to create the intricate flower-like patterns. Phul’ and ‘Kari’ meaning ‘flower’ and ‘work’ and so the word Phulkari translates into ‘flower work’ or ‘floral work’. 

In contemporary modern designs, simple and sparsely embroidered dupattas (long scarf), odhinis, and shawls, made for everyday use. The traditional varieties of Phulkaris are large items of cloth and include Chope, Tilpatr, Neelak and Bagh.

The Sujani embroidery work of Bihar, is a textil The Sujani embroidery work of Bihar, is a textile expressive art product. 
It is exclusively made by women in 15 villages of Bhusra in the Gaighat block of Muzaffarpur and a few villages of Madhubani in the Indian state of Bihar. Sujani embroidery work received GI Tag in 2007.

It is usually a quilt or bed spread, which was earlier made of old clothes, but is now generally made of easily available fabric with embroidery done with the most simple stitches with motifs narrating stories. 
Traditionally, at the time of childbirth, patches of different colored cloth from old saris and dhotis were sewn together with a simple running stitch to make a quilt called Sujani.

The word “Sujani” is derived from the words ‘su’ which means facilitating and ‘jani’ meaning birth.

The Devanga community are pioneers in weaving Kovai Kora cotton sarees. The required designs are weaved using the loom using combinations of colored cotton and silk threads and the borders are added later.
